Privacy Policy
Summary
Cap Yard games collect no personal data whatsoever. They run entirely on your device, work with no internet connection, and contain no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers of any kind. Your progress is saved in a local file on your device and never leaves it.
1. Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Cap Yard (“I”, “me”, “my”) handles information in connection with:
- the games published under the Cap Yard name, currently CapTure The Gold and Sail & Loot, and any game released under that name in future;
- this website and its subpages;
- correspondence you send to me directly.
It does not cover third-party services that may distribute the games in future, such as Google Play. Those services operate under their own privacy policies, which are linked in section 6.
2. Who I am
Cap Yard is not a company. It is the name used by a single individual who develops games independently, as a hobby, based in Türkiye. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Türkiye's KVKK and comparable laws, that individual is the data controller for any personal data processed under this policy.

3. Data collected
3.1 Through the games
None. The games contain no analytics, advertising, attribution, crash-reporting or social SDKs. They do not create an account, do not require a sign-in, do not read your contacts, location, photos, microphone or camera, and do not transmit any information about you or your device to me or to anyone else.
Because the games never open a network connection for any purpose, there is no channel through which personal data could leave your device — whether deliberately or by accident.
3.2 Through this website
This website is a set of static files hosted on GitHub Pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and contains no tracking pixels. It does load the Inter and Cormorant Garamond typefaces from Google Fonts; see section 6.
As with any web host, GitHub may process technical connection data such as your IP address and user agent in its server logs for security and abuse prevention. I have no access to individually identifiable data from those logs.
3.3 When you contact me
If you email me, I receive whatever you choose to include: usually your email address, your name if you sign the message, and the contents of the message. I use it only to reply to you.
- Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)): my legitimate interest in answering enquiries and providing support.
- Retention: correspondence is kept for up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Recipients: nobody. I do not forward, sell, rent or share correspondence.
4. Data stored on your device
The games save your progress locally, in the application's private storage area on your device. This data is not personal data, is not readable by other applications, and is never transmitted anywhere. It typically includes:
- your best score and totals accumulated across runs;
- in-game currency, unlocked characters and permanent upgrades;
- achievement and mission progress, and which in-game records you have unlocked;
- settings such as audio volume, haptics and the selected language.
5. Android permissions
The games request the minimum the application needs to run. As of the current builds they request no dangerous permissions — no location, no camera, no microphone, no contacts, no storage access outside the app's own private directory, and no network access at all.
If a future release ever needs an additional permission, this policy will be updated before that release is published, and the reason for the permission will be stated here.
6. Third-party services
6.1 Google Play
Nothing is published on Google Play yet. When a game is released there, Google will process data relating to the download under its own terms, independently of me. Google Play provides developers with aggregated, anonymous statistics — for example install counts and crash rates by device model. That information is aggregated by Google and does not identify individual users to me.
See the Google Privacy Policy.
6.2 Google Fonts (website only)
This website loads two typefaces from Google's font CDN. When your browser requests them, Google receives the request's technical metadata, including your IP address. No cookies are set by the font CDN. This applies to the website only — the games do not contact Google Fonts or any other network service.
6.3 GitHub Pages (website only)
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
6.4 What is not used
- No advertising networks and no advertising identifiers (no AAID usage).
- No analytics, attribution or crash-reporting SDKs.
- No social login or social sharing SDKs.
- No in-app purchases and no payment processing.
- No data brokers. No user data has ever been sold or shared, and none will be.
7. Children
The games are suitable for a general audience and are designed to be safe for children. Because no personal data is collected at all, none is collected from children either. This complies with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and with Google Play's Families policy requirements.
If you believe a child has provided me with personal data — for example by sending an email — contact me and I will delete it promptly.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), Türkiye's KVKK or comparable legislation. These include the right to:
- request access to the personal data held about you;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request erasure of your data;
- object to or request restriction of processing;
- request a copy of your data in a portable format;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
In practice, the only personal data ever held is correspondence you sent yourself. To exercise any of these rights, email me; I respond within 30 days. There is no charge, and nobody is treated differently for exercising a privacy right.
Do Not Sell or Share: no personal information is sold, and none is shared for cross-context behavioural advertising, so no opt-out mechanism is necessary.
9. Deleting your data
Game data: uninstall the game, or clear its data from Android Settings → Apps → (game) → Storage → Clear data. Either action permanently deletes your local save.
Correspondence: email me and ask for deletion. I will delete the thread and confirm.
10. Security
Game data never leaves your device, which removes the categories of risk that come with transmission and server storage. This website is served over HTTPS. Correspondence is stored in a mailbox protected by a strong unique password and two-factor authentication.
No system is perfectly secure. If I ever become aware of a breach affecting personal data, I will notify the affected individuals and the competent supervisory authority as required by applicable law.
11. Cookies on this website
This website sets no cookies, uses no local storage and no session storage, and therefore shows no cookie banner — there is nothing to consent to.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new “last updated” date and version number. Material changes — for example the introduction of any data collection at all — will be described plainly at the top of this page and, where a release is affected, before that release is published.
Previous versions are available in the public commit history of this website's repository.
