Two games in development
Cap Yard is the name I put on the games I make. There is no team behind it, no office and no publisher — just one person building things in his own time, in whatever direction his own taste takes them.
It is a hobby, and I would rather say that plainly than dress it up. Two games are in development right now. Both are free, both run with the connection switched off, and neither one contains a single advert or in-app purchase. That is not a marketing position — it is just how I want the things I make to work.
If these games find people, I will put more into this. If they do not, I will make the next one anyway.
No price, no ads, no in-app purchases, no subscription. Nothing in the game is behind a payment.
Everything runs on your device. No account, no sign-in, no connection required — and nothing sent anywhere.
Design, code, balance, art direction and sound — all of it done by one person, on the Godot engine.
An endless descent down the ropes of an abandoned gold mine. Switch lanes, read the traps, spend your charge on a dive — and go deeper than the run before.
Sail, board, duel and haul the treasure home across seven regions. The gold in your hold is not yours yet — it only counts once you land it at port.
Neither game is on Google Play yet. When one is ready it will be published under the developer name Cap Yard, and the link will appear here first.
I do not have a set of principles pinned above a desk. I make games alone, as a hobby, and I build whatever I feel like building at the time.
What that means in practice is that I cannot promise you a release date, a content schedule or a third game. What I can promise is that nothing gets shipped half-finished to hit a date, because there is no date to hit — and that you will never open one of my games and find an advert waiting for you.
Both games are built in Godot 4 and run entirely on your device. There is no server, so there is nothing to shut down later.
“The treasure isn't yours. It's yours once you land it at port.”
Everything lands in one inbox and I read all of it, though it may take me a few days. For a longer message there is a contact page.
